Frequently Asked Questions

Red Sox

  1. Why should I hire a professional sports photographer?
When you have a one-time event that must be photographed, you have to insure success.  Hiring a professional who understands the game, lighting, positioning, and can anticipate the flow of the action is essential to success.
  2. What type of equipment do you use?
We use only professional-grade digital cameras and lenses that deliver the highest resolution for maximum photo quality.  These cameras include rapid-fire image recording that allow us to capture up to 8 shots per second, a necessity in action sports.
  3. How do I view the images that you shoot?
It all really depends on your preference and the type of event.  For some clients we provide contact sheets, simply photographic paper with multiple images on each sheet.  We can also provide CDs with the digital images.  For some events like road races, we will upload the photos to a secure web site and provide the participants with a link & password that allows them to view and order reprints directly with Vector Sports.
  4. Why should my student athlete have an online portfolio?
For high school athletes that aspire to attend college, the award of an athletic scholarship can be worth over $100,000 depending on the university.  Even for those who plan to attend state or Division 3 colleges, obtaining a scholarship is a huge factor in their future, particularly for those whose families are not wealthy.  Today college recruiters are faced with scouting literally hundreds of potential athletes, and any serious high school athlete is expected to have a portfolio of their sports skills easily available for the use of the scout.
  5. Do you provide video services and editing?
Yes!  When you develop your portfolio, video footage is a critical element that is reviewed by recruiters.  Vector Sports can add customer-furnished video to the profile, provide editing services & special effects.
